Project #7: Take A Stand!


Objectives:

  • Students will learn about themes in art by researching a cause that is meaningful to them.
  • Students will explore the selection tools (lasso, magnetic lasso, quick selection, etc.), pen tool (anchor points), healing brush, clone stamp, masking layers, crop tool, and image resize
  • Students will learn to select a section of an image, and use their knowledge of Photoshop tools to manipulate several objects by selecting, copying, cutting, and pasting to create a new image.
  • Students will write a Process Paper detailing their research and what they learned about their cause, in addition to the symbols or objects chosen.
  • Students will become familiar with various color printing options for digital artists.

Project #6: Painterly Landscape


Objectives

  • Learn about Impressionism & Post-Impressionism artists: their subject matter and painterly styles.
  • Use a Landscape photo (you took) as inspiration for creating a digital painting.
  • Use Photoshop Brush tool/Presets, Color Palette/Swatch menus, Pencil Tool, Selection Tools, and Layers to create a digital painting.
  • Write a Process paper detailing your experiences and what you learned.
  • Get familiar with the various color printing options for digital painters.
